Horatio Alger Association of Distinguished Americans, Inc.

In keeping with the mission of the Horatio Alger Association, the scholarship programs provide financial assistance to students throughout the nation who have significant financial need and have exhibited integrity and perseverance in overcoming personal adversity. Eligibility criteria include: high school graduation in spring/summer, demonstrated critical financial need ($55,000 or lower adjusted gross family income), and United States citizenship. Early Childhood Education Degree Scholarships

Potentially hundreds or thousands of early childhood education degree scholarships. Some of these scholarships will be dedicated to ECE specifically; whereas, others will be dedicated to future teachers in general. Be sure to look at all scholarships for education majors no matter whether the scholarship is for college and university expenses, licensures, or for conferences. Semper Fidelis All-American Program

Proudly presented by the United States Marine Corps, the Semper Fidelis All-American Program recognized high school students who face life’s battles with the conviction and determination to succeed. To apply to this program you must be a high school junior who possesses a fighting spirit to improve the lives of others, and meet the basic requirements.  Please apply at

Heisman High School Scholarship

The Heisman High School Scholarship is awarding $64,000 in scholarships to the nation’s most accomplished and community-minded scholar-athletes. Deadline is October 29, 2019.  Please visit for criteria and application. 

Kohl’s Excellence Scholarship

 Applicants must be graduating high school students who intend to enroll in a postsecondary institution, which may be a public or nonpublic university, college, or vocational/technical college.  Students, who are residents of the State of Wisconsin, are in good standing, and who demonstrate probable success in postsecondary education are eligible to apply.  Deadline is November 5, 2019.  Please visit this LINK for criteria and application. 

2020 Prudential Spirit of Community Award

The Prudential Spirit of Community Award can help recognize outstanding young people from a school or organization.  Qualifying students must: be in grades 5-12 as of November 5, 2019, and a legal resident of one of the 50 states, have participated in a volunteer activity at least in part after September 1, 2018, and complete and submit an online application by November 5, 2019, to a school principal or the head of one of the program’s designated organizations.  Please visit LINK to fill out application and details. 

Fleet Reserve Association Milwaukee Branch 14 Americanism Essay Contest

This year's theme and title is "What my vote will mean to me?" in 350 words - on one side of paper. Eligibility grades 7 thru 12. Entries must be returned by December 1, 2019.  Please use this LINK for rules and application.
